In order to enrich students' extracurricular life, promote their biological literacy, improve students' hands-on ability and innovation ability, deepen their knowledge understanding of organism structure, and build a stage for students to showcase their learning results, Anqing Foreign Language School's Junior High Department of the east campus held the ‘Biological Model Making Contest’.
To be specific, students actively participated in this competition who combined the textbook knowledge, gave full play to their unique creativity, and made a total of more than 30 models. Afterwards, the teachers of the biology lesson preparation group selected the models according to their scientific nature and aesthetic quality, and selected 6 first-prize works, 9 second-prize works and several third-prize works.
Overall, this activity effectively stimulated students' strong interest in the basic structure of life. Moreover, the informative event not only enhanced students’ spatial thinking ability and practical ability, but also greatly enhanced their enthusiasm for participating in innovative activities and stimulated students' spirit of innovation as well.
